A very warm welcome to Hayburn Wyke Class’s page.

Our class is made up of Year 1 and Year 2 children. We have two class teachers, Miss Harper who works Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Mrs Bosomworth who works Thursday and Friday. Mrs Wegrznkiewicz (Mrs W), Mrs Capper, Mrs Totten and Mrs Shipley are our wonderful teaching assistants.

We are passionate about how our children develop and flourish within our setting. Each child is valued for their uniqueness and is loved within the school. We post regularly on Class dojo, so please follow for interesting things we have been learning and sharing.

We structure our week using both focused whole class teaching sessions, small group work and in provision. In English we follow ‘The Write Stuff’, which is a book-based approach to writing and in maths we use ‘White Rose’ to support our children’s learning. We have adopted the Little Wandle Scheme for teaching Phonics and reading practice. Children are allocated an ebook weekly, tailored to their individual phonics knowledge.

Mrs Bosomworth is a trained Beach Schools leader and is working closely with Mr Smith to develop and embed this across the school. Watch this space!

Our Christian ethos is fully embedded in our daily routines and we aim to emulate our values in everything we do. We take part in daily acts of worship and prayer as a whole school. We emerge ourselves in regular Eucharists throughout the Church School calendar and welcome families to these.
